Thanksgiving: a time to be thankful (maybe)

Forbes came up with a list of 13 things entrepreneurs can be thankful for, right in time for Thanksgiving. Since we were busy stuffing ourselves with turkey, we’ll share it with you today:

1.    Free Stuff.
2.    Courageous Venture Capital
3.    Section 179 of the U.S. Tax Code
4.    Inherent Drive to Make the World a Better Place
5.    Businesses You Can Start for Under $5000

6.    Triumphant Trailblazers
7.    Bank Deposit Placement Programs
8.    The Impending Infrastructure Boom
9.    Loyal Customers
10.    Empathetic Employees
11.    Dollar-Cost Averaging
12.    Cash
13.    Affordable Commercial Real Estate

If these 13 things don’t ring true for you, then you’re going to have to take this into account:

One ray of hope: Promising start-ups are still finding funding. While foreseeable exits are few, venture capitalists have put only slightly fewer dollars at stake as they did this time last year, before the financial crisis had gained any traction.

Yes, great startups will do alright, and next year is going to be a break-or-make one. Good luck!
