4 Steps Towards a Successful Solo Entrepreneur Experience
Don't be alone, find help

Don't be alone, find help

Most startups start off with one, maybe two people. It’s hard to be a solo entrepreneur, especially if you’ve spent your whole working life under the corporate structure. There are many ways you can achieve entrepreneurial success, and going at it alone is a great one. Here are some tips to make one of the toughest ways of making it a little easier:

•    Network your way to fast help: If you stay in your basement in front of a computer all day, then you’re not going to meet key people. You need to get out there and network, allowing for a greater chance of meeting the one person that can help you do what you’re not that capable of doing.
•    Put a priority on revenue generation: You need money, and that’s all there is to it. You’re not going to make money by sitting on your butt and waiting for users to register to your startup. You’re going to have to write a business plan, get funding, and focus on making money as quickly as possible.
•    Manage your overload wisely: If it’s just you, then there’ll be times that you’ll have too much work. That’s when it comes time to prioritize. You’re going to need to learn what work is more important, and get it done first. It’s a key to success. You’re not going to do everything, so you better learn what you need to do first.

•    Find a motivating coach: You might want to go at it alone, but you’re going to have to find someone who’ll motivate you. This can be your mother, your wife, your best friend, or your 4 year old daughter, it doesn’t matter. Find someone who wants you to be successful and makes it possible for you to focus on what you have to do. It doesn’t hurt if they throw in a tip or two along the way.
