6 Ways To Collaborate Online

You probably won’t have a tough time collaborating when you just start up, as your whole office is probably located in your basement (or a similar small-office dynamic). As your company grows, and so does your team, you’ll probably want to start taking into account some of the great online collaboration tools available.

- HomeCourt: This baby can do it all. It’ll allow you to manage your clients, track your projects, files, invoices, and lots more. It has a variety of plans, all of which differ in the number of projects you can manage and how much virtual disk space you can take up. We suggest you start with the free plan, and upgrade as you need to.

-    WorkflowPerfect: Much like HomeCourt, Workflow Perfect will allow you to keep track of clients, projects, and your team’s work output. What sets this apart is that it’s completely free. There are no upgrade plans or anything else to keep you on your toes about maxing out your service’s capacity. Since it’s browser based, you’ll be able to access your projects from anywhere you want to. The reviews are fairy positive, and here’s an example:  “This project management tool is a great option for cash-strapped small businesses looking to increase efficiency.”

-    ClientSpot: this one is geared more towards the freelance worker. It allows you to track how much time you’ve been putting into each project, making it easier to get more stuff done.

-    Planzone: if privacy is your thing, then you’re going to love Planzone. With this site, you’ll be able host your own private workspace, making it simpler to arrange who does what and how much work is getting done. The product sheet is impressive, but it does come at a price. You can get a free trial, but afterwards, you might want to start thinking about shelling out for one of the paid services.

-    NuoSpace: KillerStartups called it a “marvel of streamlined efficeny”, and they were right. It offers the same basic features as any other online collaboration tool, but it looks great doing it. The service is paid, but the demo should get you interested enough to pay for at least the most basic of subscriptions.
-    DeskAway: like the name implies, it’s your desk away from the office. It’s got simple yet fulfilling features that are sure to keep your work as organized as it can be. It does have a paid option, but you can use most of the services for free. If you’re strapped for cash, and you need something easy to use, this is your best bet.
