Tips/AdviceHow To Get Talked About Online

Maybe one day your startup will be amongst these
When you launch your startup, you need to get some media buzz going. It’s not easy to get on TechCrunch, Mashable, or KillerStartups, but if you work on some things, you might have more of a shot. Here they are:
1. Build a great Startup: What better way to get noticed than building a great startup for people to talk about consistently?
2. Approach the Press Directly: Make friends, and let them know when you launch before you send out any press releases.
3. Be Persistent: Keep pushing buttons until you find the right one.
4. Blog About Your Startup: This could draw in interested people who want to see what it’s like to start up from the ground up.
5. Be Patient: Remember: all in due time.
6. Be Confident: You have to be the person that believes in your product most.
7. Be Descriptive About What Your Site Does: Tell everyone about your startup, even if they don’t want to hear it. Be detailed, so they can get a better picture in their head.
8. Tell a Story: People like the story behind startups. You should give them that.
9. Don’t Hide Information: Why go public if you’re going to be secretive about it?
10. Don’t Be Overconfident: People don’t like jerks. Be you, and you should be alright (unless you’re a jerk).
