NewsInvestments Drop, Green Startups Flourish
In case you thought that the VC scare was all in the media, here’s some hard facts for you. 2008 was the first time in five years that Venture Capital investments shrank. They went from $30.8 billion in 2007 to $28.3 billion in 2008.
What does this mean for the little guy? Well, if it’s shrinking, and most of the money is going to established acts with lots of users, then you’re in trouble. But don’t panic, there are more ways to get funding, you don’t need that much VC investment anyway. Well, back to business. Here’s a list of who got the most Venture Capital:

See a trend? It’s the green industries that are getting the most funding. Tech (and specially internet) startups, need to step up their green game in order to get more funding from VCs.
