NewsMashable and Yahoo Get Together to Award Developers, Deadline Approaching
Are you a struggling developer looking to get one foot in the door of the startup industry? If you are, then one way to get noticed is by building a mashup. Mashable and Yahoo give you the chance to show the rest of the world your mashup skills.
All you have to do is build a “kickass” (that’s how Mashable puts it, and I think it’s quite a good description) application using Yahoo’s BOSS API. The BOSS API is really amazing, as it gives developers the power of Yahoo search, in an open-source serving.
If you’re interested in showing the world what you can do with this API, then hurry. You have until Sunday (October 5th) to get your submissions into the competition. Your mashup might just be the one that furthers innovation in the search industry. If it’s not, then you’ll at least be able to pick up some experience for any future venture you might want to delve into. Practice makes perfect, and there’s no better practice than one that might get you some prize money and exposure.
