Tips/AdvicePR Tips For Your Startup
Once you have your startup finished and ready to launch, you need people to know more about it. That’s all find and dandy, but you probably spent most of your cash in getting your product ready to roll.
Over at BuilderAu.com, they posted a great list of things you can do to easily promote your startup. Even if you’re handling possibly the best idea that has ever hit the web, you’re going to need people to know about it in order for it to be successful. Here are the tips they put up, including some extra thoughts:
- Hire an agency. This one might be tough, specially if you don’t have the funds. It’s always good to have someone guide you through something you’re not too familiar with.
- Create an easy to read webpage specifically for each product. Every time you offer something new, let your users know about it in detail. This will boost interest in whatever new thing you’re offering.
- Start a blog. This is a big one. A blog will let you keep your users updated on everything you’re doing. All, in an easy to read and update format.
- Start using video. Use videos to show off your product or service. It’s a great way to show people exactly how easy it is to use your product. They also add great value to your site.
- Join the twits on Twitter and other micro-publishing networks. Twitter is huge right now, make sure you have a presence there. It’s like blogging, but really short and easy to write. It’s a great way to keep your users up to date on anything you’re doing with your site.
- Make sure somebody is in charge of community management. If you don’t keep a good community presence, you’re not going to succeed in getting the message out. Make sure you have someone managing all your updates, so your users will always find something new.
- Make sure your website is SEO friendly. The higher Google ranks you, the better off you’re going to be. If people search for you and you pop up on top, it’s going to bring more people to your site.
- Engage the right social network. Make sure you target the right people. Go where your audience is.
- Devote time to your social network and listen. Don’t be there just to be there. Make sure you take advantage of any online community you might have created. They can be a source of great input.
- Don’t forget traditional media and traditional approaches. Use other ways of getting the word out. The old ways work too, but they’re just a little bit harder to get the hang of. Still, use all available outlets to let the world know about your site.
