Things That Make Your Startup More Attractive

forsale2Are you thinking about selling your startup to a bidding company in order to pay off your rising home mortgage? If you are, then you probably already know that selling your startup isn’t as easy as placing it on eBay.

There are probably hundreds of sites that do the same thing you do, so you need to make sure your startup shines above the rest even before you put it on sale. Here is a list of things you need to make sure your startup has, which will allow you to sell it quicker.

-    A Strong Brand: Even if you have the best startup in the world for any category you can think of, it’s all about branding. You need to make sure your startup’s brand precedes its reputation. Why? Because prospective buyers are more likely to buy your startup because of how well known it is than for what it does.
-     Stability: Is your startup something that is going to be irrelevant next year? Does it have staying power? If your answer to those questions is yes, then you’re ready to sell. If you’re trying to sell someone a search engine, then keep it to yourself.
-    Growth: Is your business still growing? Or is it stuck? A business that is growing is much more attractive for a prospective buyer. If a business is not growing, then it might as well be going out of business.
-    Topic: What’s your site about? Is the service your startup provides useful? It’s important that you can stay relevant for a long time, otherwise, why would people want to buy it.
